Rachel Chrapot (Alumni)
Rachel is an accomplished executive with over 25 years of strategic and business leadership experience in the legal, higher education, and nonprofit sectors. A former barrister, she brings expertise in strategic planning, team building, mentoring, and public speaking. She holds a law degree, a Master of Laws, and an Arts degree with Honours, and is a Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. Most recently, she earned an MBA from Deakin University.
Her background includes leadership roles at the Victorian Bar, lecturing at top universities, and managing the Monash University JD program. Passionate about integrating profit and purpose, Rachel advocates for institutions to create sustainable community impact through meaningful stakeholder engagement and communication.
Patrick Gallagher (Current student)
Patrick Gallagher is Managing Partner at Vision Radiology, applying his expertise in medical imaging to oversee operations across multiple clinics. His journey began with a Bachelor of Radiation Science from Charles Sturt University, followed by ultrasound training in Victoria’s Public Health system and a Master’s in Medical Ultrasound from the University of South Australia. Now completing his final MBA units at Deakin, Patrick blends clinical insight with business acumen. Outside work, he enjoys time with his young child, prioritises well-being through active pursuits, and engages in community service, reflecting his commitment to impactful healthcare.
Catherine Sherwin (Alumni)
Catherine is an urban planner and has had extensive experience in local government, private consultancy and has recently commenced a new role with state government in the Department of Transport and Planning, Development Approvals and Design team as Principal Planner. She has worked across Victoria, Darwin and internationally in London and Cambodia. This year, Catherine was awarded a Fellowship of the Planning Institute of Australia.
During Catherine’s time at Deakin she was awarded the Global Citizenship Award and the Deakin Hallmark: Global Citizenship Excellence in Business Administration. After graduating she has remained active in the Deakin community and has just finished up a 6.5 year term on the MBA Advisory Board. Catherine is also passionate about promoting gender equity and volunteers as Co-Chair of the UN Women Melbourne Chapter and Convenor of the Women’s Planning Network.
