Aiming higher with new partnership for MBA students

"Our students will be able to gain a competitive edge that’s required to get ahead in today’s marketplace."

Deakin Business School (DBS) is excited to announce a new strategic partnership agreement with Australian Institute of Management (AIM).

As a result of this agreement, students enrolling in the Deakin MBA (M701) will automatically receive membership with Australia’s most powerful leadership network for the duration of their study.

Deakin MBA director, Dr Colin Higgins says this collaboration supports the program’s mission to strengthen industry engagement and ‘real world’ exposure for students.

‘This is a very exciting opportunity for Deakin MBA students.

‘AIM believes that better managers and leaders, lead to a better society. We feel this resonates strongly with our students and what we try to do in the MBA program and we are confident that this partnership will enhance our students’ professional outcomes.'

An objective of the Deakin MBA program is to provide students with opportunities to engage with a professional community and to build management experience, wherever they are based. Various events each year will be coordinated with AIM, offering students networking, mentoring and other professional development opportunities at a number of locations to suit them.

AIM’s Chief Executive, David Pich, says working with DBS, aligns with AIM’s long history of leading the way in providing connections, guidance and knowledge to Australia’s management and leadership community.

'Through Deakin’s MBA cohort, AIM has the opportunity to support our future leaders. This partnership will allow us to continue guiding them after the completion of their degree, ensuring their learning continues beyond university.'

AIM is Australia’s largest membership organisation for managers and leaders, providing a wide-range of training programs for professionals. Some of the benefits for students include: the use of AIM Member Lounges across the country, six months of Member Exchange (mentoring program), exclusive member events and newsletters. The full list of membership benefits can be found on the AIM website.

‘Our students will be able to gain a competitive edge that’s required to get ahead in today’s marketplace through the range of opportunities available from this membership,’ says Dr Higgins.
