DBS achieves major international accreditation

"We are proud to be the 3rd business school in Victoria to earn AACSB accreditation."

Deakin Business School (DBS) is proud to announce that it has been accredited by AACSB International, the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools in the world.

DBS Executive Dean, Professor Mike Ewing, says the AACSB accreditation is arguably the most significant achievement in the School’s 40 year history.

'Along with the AACSB accreditation, the Deakin MBA was ranked in the world’s Top 20 online MBAs by Quacquarelli Symonds and our MBA and Bachelor of Commerce degrees were recently both re-accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development’s International accreditation system (EPAS).

'With this continued international recognition our students, alumni, employers and industry partners can be extremely confident that our offerings are truly world-class.'

To earn accreditation with AACSB International, Deakin Business School had to demonstrate its achievements in engagement, innovation and impact – as measured against 15 global standards covering strategic management and innovation; student, faculty, and staff as active participants; learning and teaching; and academic and professional engagement.

Robert D. Reid, Executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International, said AACSB accreditation represented the highest achievement for an educational institution that awards business degrees.

'Everyone at Deakin—including the administration, faculty, senior management teams, staff, and students—are to be commended for their role in earning accreditation, and for their commitment to ongoing improvement,' he says.
