Students experience studying and living in a rural environment.
In November 2014 a group of Deakin University Information Systems students travelled from Melbourne to Warrnambool for an eight day program to explore the opportunities that connectivity can bring to a regional centre such as Warrnambool. The program focused on a study conducted by Deakin over ten years ago and aimed to compare and build on the findings of that study 10 years down the track. The program included classroom activities, industry visits, geocaching and social activities, culminating in a team presentation. The intensive week was an opportunity for city students to experience studying and living in a rural environment and the video captures their thoughts about Deakin’s Warrnambool campus and country life.
