Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an entrepreneur? Would you like to expand your enterprise, innovation and leadership capabilities?
In a unique collaboration, Deakin University has partnered with Coventry University (UK) to deliver a new postgraduate program in entrepreneurship.
Coventry University is a vibrant and progressive university with a proud tradition in applied teaching, learning and research. It secured a gold rating in the UK government’s 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and is the country’s top modern university in the Guardian University Guide 2018.
The fully-online Graduate Certificate (AUS)/Postgraduate Certificate (UK) program is offered on the social learning platform FutureLearn which allows you to connect with students from around the world and be part of a rich interactive and international learning community.
In a world with many uncertainties, skills in entrepreneurship and leadership are both in-demand and crucial.
They are the skills that help you learn to take risks, identify and solve problems, create, collaborate, and importantly, make a difference.
Drawing on the research, teaching and practical expertise of both Coventry and Deakin, this program will allow you to gain deeper sense of your entrepreneurial potential that will help support your career development, personal goals and aspirations.
At the end of the course you will be able to:
- analyse organisational complexities through multiple perspectives and cultures to demonstrate entrepreneurial insight
- evaluate accepted practices and norms using a range of tools and approaches to create change and drive entrepreneurial outcomes
- apply the characteristics of entrepreneurial mindset to practice
- analyse and use transdisciplinary perspectives for value creation and positive social impact
- apply practical knowledge and skills of entrepreneurship to communicate and effect transformational change.
By partnering with FutureLearn in 2017, Deakin became the first university in the world to use a platform that offers several fully online postgraduate courses.
Professor Beverley Oliver, Deakin’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, describes the new collaboration as the future of postgraduate education enabled by global platforms – giving learners access to expertise from leading researchers and practitioners.
‘The course is designed to ensure students network with their peers – in the digital economy, their communities and future customers will be global.
‘At Deakin, we are committed to providing the best possible learning experience and outcomes to our students, wherever they are in the world. We share this value with Coventry University and this has been made clear by the new partnership.’
