"These rankings tell us that we are hitting the mark."

Deakin University’s online (distance) MBA has been ranked in the world’s Top 20 – and again best in Australia - by the prestigious international university ranking analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.

The 2016 QS Distance/Online MBA Rankings rate the world’s 30 strongest distance/online MBA programs. Deakin’s online MBA was ranked #16 , up from #21 in 2015, and the only Australian program to make the list.

As motivated learners strive to their educational goals with their careers and personal lives, QS says online MBA programs are becoming increasingly popular, and a growing number of employers now recognise the value of an MBA delivered with the support of technology.

Deakin MBA Director, Associate Professor Colin Higgins says being named among the top MBAs in the world is continued recognition that Deakin Business School is living up to its promise.

'We aim to harness technology to prepare students for careers of the future and this ranking recognises the significant investment we’ve made in enabling students to genuinely fit their studies around their lives,' Associate Professor Higgins says.

'As the flagship program for Deakin Business School, we are delighted to see the MBA program recognised by prestigious international organisations such as QS Quacquarelli Symonds,' says Professor Mike Ewing, Executive Dean of Deakin’s Faculty of Business and Law.

'These rankings tell us that we are hitting the mark,' he says. 'What’s more, it assures people that they don’t have to sacrifice quality for convenience. Our program is completely converged – students have the same learning experience in the cloud, on-campus, or through any of our other residential and intensive modes.'

The Deakin MBA already holds a QS international five-star rating. It is recognised amongst students and employers as a quality program. The MBA has also just been reaccredited by EPAS - the ‘European standard’ awarded by the European Foundation for Management Development.

The program has been running for more than 30 years and draws on the University’s innovative CloudDeakin online learning platform that enables students to get a full, immersive experiences while giving students the flexibility to study when and where it is most convenient.

The MBA is also part of Start Anytime, a pioneering initiative at Deakin that allows postgraduate business students to fast-track a unit and complete it in as little as four weeks, or take their time and complete it over a year. With no assignment deadlines students can complete work within a time frame that works for them.
